About Sophiko
Sophiko Gorgadze is a manual QA engineer with more than three years of testing web and mobile apps. She plans and runs functional, regression, usability and cross-browser tests, and writes bug reports with the steps to reproduce, the expected result and the actual result. She is a QA engineer at GenofIT and tests apps for clients on Upwork, using tools such as Jira, Qase, Testmo and Chrome DevTools. On binarytranslator.ai she runs each tool against its test cases before it goes live.
In Sophiko's words
A converter can pass every normal value and still fail on 0, 255 or an empty box. Those are the inputs I try first, because they're the ones real users hit by accident.

Questions for Sophiko
- What do you test first on a new tool?
- The edges. Empty input, a single 0, 255 and 256, a negative number, then something invalid like a 2 in a binary box. If the tool handles those with a clear result or a clear error, the normal values usually work too.
- What goes into a good bug report?
- Three things: the steps to reproduce it, what I expected and what actually happened. On this site I add a Share link from the tool, since it opens with the exact input and settings, so the developer sees the bug in one click.
- Why test on phones as well as desktop?
- Web and mobile fail in different ways. On a phone I check that the input box is easy to reach, the buttons are big enough to tap and a long binary string wraps instead of running off the screen.
